Abstract

Christian education aims to build and live a Christian worldview, practice evangelism and equip oneself to live a more impactful life based on the Bible's metanarrative. Christian education must be able to integrate interrelated learning faiths that impact not only academic matters but also character change. An effective Christian education enables one to study the history of Christianity, both past and present; develop skills to practice faith; reflect a conscious life of the truth of the Christian faith; and maintain the sensitivity needed to live as God's people, helping a sinner to realize his sinfulness which is marked by a change in his image to become like Christ. A good Christian education will be very accommodating to implementing the Pancasila student profile launched by the government. Contextual Christian education will succeed in the government's plan to achieve it and will help Christian schools to maintain their existence amid existing challenges.

Abstrak

Tujuan pendidikan Kristen adalah membangung dan menghidupi Christian world view, menjalankan penginjilan dan memperlengkapi diri untuk hidup berdasarkan metanarasi Alkitab yang lebih berdampak. Pendidikan Kristen harus mampu mengintegrasikan antara iman pembelajaran yang saling berketerkaitan yang berdampak tidak hanya pada hal akdemis tetapi juga perubahan kharakter. Pendidikan Kristen yang efektif memungkinkan seseorang mempelajari sejarah kekristenan, baik dimasa lalu maupun terkini; mengembangkan keterampilan untuk mempraktekan iman; merefleksikan hidup yang sadar kebenaran iman Kristiani; dan memelihara kepekaan yang diperlukan untuk hidup sebagai umat Allah, menolong seseorang yang berdosa menyadari keberdosaannya yang ditandai perubahan citra dirinya menjadi serupa dengan Kristus. Pendidikan Kristen yang baik akan sangat akomodatif terhadap impelmentasi profil pelajar Pancasila yang dicanangkan oleh oleh pemerintah. Pendidikan Kristen secara kontekstual akan menyukseskan rencana pemerintah dalam mencapainya dan akan menolong sekolah-sekolah Kristen untuk tetap mempertahankan eksistensinya di tengah-tengah tantangan yang ada.
